Cassadee Pope is an up and coming artist since her start by winning season 3 of the Voice. She recently came out with a new studio album produced by her record label Republic Nashville.

The song begins slightly odd, with her singing being interrupted by her talking voice. I slightly dislike her talking in it but I do see where it would add a different and new element, and many listeners would appreciate that. I can tell she is trying to bring something new to the table which is almost always a positive. Her voice, although quite country, isn’t very stereotypically country, It definitely has a pop flare, which I do think helps with adding that extra element to make her different.

This song, in general, is very well written. There is nice chord progression and the lyrics pair well with the song. It is very “feel good” which there is an abundance of in the female country world right now, but it is also what people are buying. I don’t condemn her for the style of song she chose to produce.

The song ending is something to be talked about. It ends very abruptly which completely threw me off guard. One second it was playing and then the next it wasn’t and I definitely think that could have been improved with a fade out or something of the nature. It left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth from that abrupt ending which made me not like the song as much as it had the potential to, because I was so caught off guard.

I would just like to point out that she was in a pop punk band called Hey Monday before being on the voice
