Jack Kottenstette loves music. He loves writing it, listening to it and sampling all different types. Most people think his musical taste to be weird. But from Reggae to screamo Jack listens and loves it all.

This senior would classify his family as dysfunctional. “But what family isn’t?” said Kottenstette. His mom has been a creative and supportive member of his family. The similarities between the two are uncanny, and she has given Jack “a lot of motherly advice” throughout the years that have helped him navigate his way through life.

Describing himself as “pretty chill” and “eclectic,” Kottenstette hopes to become an Audio Engineer. An Audio Engineer is described by recordingconnection.com as a person who “works on the recording, manipulation, mixing and reproduction of sound.” Audio engineers have been defined as the individuals who work on the “technical aspect of recording—the placing of microphones, the turning of pre-amp knobs, the setting of levels.” Jack believes his friend Jessica Fox to be the most influential friend in his life. “She’s a pretty cool cat who has always been there for me” said Kottenstette.

Jack Kottenstette hopes to follow his love of music throughout the rest of his life; not just in his job but through writing, listening and recording.
