Varsity Wrestling took down Arapahoe High School

Saturday, December 3, Fossil Ridge High School’s wrestling team went away against Arapahoe High School and ended the day with placing 5 out of 15 in their first tournament of the season.

Sophomore, Ethan Anderson was the ‘winner’ of the night with five wins overall and two losses with a weight of 285 pounds. Anderson is a varsity wrestler and is currently a sophomore at Fossil.

126 lbs weight division, Will Henrickson won two of his three matches for the start of the season.

Henrickson has been on the wrestling team for his two years being at Fossil. Henrickson had an outstanding amount of takedowns at Arapahoe High School with nine total takedowns.

Junior, Nathan Meyer, weight class of 195 pounds ended up only losing one of his matches and winning three against Arapahoe. Meyer ended the night with seven total takedowns.

Senior, Brennen Houchin won three out of his five matches on Saturday but had a total of seven takedowns within the tournament.

Senior at Fossil Ridge, Kyle Smart ended with four wins and one loss within his 145 pounds weight division. Within his five matches, Smart had a total of five takedowns.
