Wrestling suffers loss against crosstown rival Rocky

On Wednesday, December 7 the wrestling Sabercats competed against crosstown rival, Rocky Mountain High School. The night ended with a 15-57 defeat for Fossil Ridge High School. However, there were some athletes that won their individual duals.

The first dual was for the 132 pound weight. Fossil junior, Zach Klingner went up against John Murphy. Klingner earned 2 points in the first period and then 3 points in the third period while Murphy earned 3 points in the second period. The dual ended with a score of 5-3 in favor of Fossil.

The next win of the night for Fossil was the dual between junior, Nathan Meyer and Alec Hargreaves. Meyer dominated dual earning 2 points in the first period, 4 points in the second period and then pinning Hargreaves in the third period. The final score of the dual was 10-1, a win for Meyer and 6 points for the team.

The last win of the night went to senior, Brennen Houchin in the 220 pound weight dual against Benjamin Gonzalez. Houchin also pinned his opponent in the third period, solidifying the individual win and earning 6 points for the team.
