During Saturday afternoon January 21, a record amount of 44 Fossil Ridge High School band students participated in the Northern Colorado Honor Bands. The two honor bands took some of the best band students from various Northern Colorado high schools to create an ensemble that would blow away those who undermine the ability of students of all grades. The concert featured two guest conductors for each band, who taught students new and different skills that they may have not been exposed to in previous experience. Sophomore Evan Mossel first chair in the wind symphony describes his experience positively, “The music selection was challenging and enjoyable to play. I also enjoyed listening to the symphonic band, and their music selection. This experience pushed and helped me improve my playing abilities.”
