One of the last four games of the year went without a win for varsity or junior varsity when Fossil Ridge High School played Legacy High School at home on Thursday, April 27. The varsity team lost with a final score of 1-2 and the junior varsity team tied 0-0. The girls have one away game before their next home game, which is also senior night.
The junior varsity played first and put up an amazing effort but ultimately tied the game at 0-0. Fossil dominated the game and had numerous shots on net, however neither team was able to score. While varsity took the lead in the first half with captain Bella Alessi, #12, scoring. The Sabercats held their lead over the Lightning until the final half when Legacy scored two goals. Fossil played hard and kept a lead over Legacy until the Sabercats slowly lost their power and confidence. Despite the loss Fossil senior Shannon Pelichowski was awarded player of the game.
