With the fall 2017 season coming to an end, the boys varsity soccer team for Fossil Ridge High School finished their two final games of regular season successfully. For senior night on Thursday, October 12, the Sabercats shutout Legacy High School 1-0. To conclude the regular season, the boys also shutout Mountain Range High School 1-0 on the Mustangs’ home turf.

It was an exciting night for junior, Cade Peters against Legacy as he scored his first goal of the season. Peters scored the game winning goal to end senior night with a win.

The last goal to be scored for the fall season was scored by David Wilhelm against Mountain Range. Scoring that goal gave Wilhelm his seventh goal of the season, going into the state tournament as the second highest goal scorer for Fossil.

The Sabercats will host their first game of the 5A Boys Soccer State Tournament on Thursday, October 26. They are No. 16 with a (8-5-1) record and will face No. 17 Legend High School that has a record of (10-4-1). At 4:00 PM this Thursday, the Sabercats kick off the state tournament at their home turf. The winner will advance to the next round and play the winner of No. 1 Denver East and No. 32 Arvada West.
