Spring sports are underway, and after a week of tryouts, the Fossil Ridge baseball coaches have selected teams and already begun training for the first game of the season – which is on Thursday, March 8, at 4:00 P.M. at home.

If you would like to look at the boys’ complete schedule for this spring, you can find it here. The Cats roster includes nine seniors, six juniors, and three sophomores, all of whom are returning players for the Fossil Ridge program.

Last year, the SaberCats ended their season with a (5-14-0) record, which didn’t secure them a playoff appearance. This year, with a talented and experienced team, Fossil hopes to make a deep run in the state tournament.

Junior Joe Masi stated in an interview, “I am looking forward to starting out fresh with a new team and having the chance to have a really successful season. Some of our goals as a team this season are making it to state, being city champions, and having a winning record. I think we will be pretty good, and we’ve worked really hard in the off season, so I am just super excited to see how that work will pay off.” The Cats’ game plan is to go out and play their hardest every game and every practice and to do it for their teammates, not just themselves.
