How would you describe your family? Forgiving

“I plan to major in public relations/ image management and minor in political science. I want to be a campaign manager or press secretary.” That makes sense, especially when Emma says her idol is Elizabeth Warren, the Senator of Massachusetts. “She’s a very nontraditional politician and has dedicated so much of her life to giving girls like me the opportunity to enter politics. I got to meet her in DC in October and get her book signed and it was just so motivating to see where I can be someday if I continue to put in the work.”

Emma describes herself as resilient. She looks forward to being independent after highschool. Going out on her own and living a life she makes for herself. Currently not set on a place to attend college, she states “So far I have gotten a lot of scholarships and am hoping that my heart will lead me to what school fits me best. Right now U of Oklahoma looks perfect to me because it’s just far enough away so I can’t come home every weekend but can come back for long breaks.”

“The best part about being a Michel is how hard our parents have pushed us to be sociable and take the opportunity to treat everyone with kindness. It builds happiness for both sides and I think that’s amazing.” Emma believes her mom to be the most supportive and influential family member. “She has shown me what it is like to live a healthy life emotionally physically and mentally. I’ve made my fair share of mistakes and every time she has been forgiving and forced me to forgive myself as well. I really wouldn’t be the strong confident person I am without her influence.” Abbey Cosper, Emma’s longtime friend has impacted her emotionally, spiritually and mentally as well. “She has stuck with me through many of my mistakes and been a confidant for me. She has also been a huge impact on my relationship with God and strengthening my faith. She’s a keeper for sure.”

She says the best part of high school is being part of so many clubs and fun organizations. Although Emma wishes she had taken more opportunities, her goal is to be happy in life, to not settle for things she doesn’t really want. This Jennifer Lawrence fan says her perfect weekend is one without homework and a relaxing shower. Emma is a confident and strong person headed towards a bright future. Emma cares for others around her and creates a warm environment that welcomes everyone. Congrats to you! Graduating class of 2016!
