A time to dance: state dance competition

The FRHS dance team recently competed in a state competition held at the Denver Coliseum. The team finished 8th overall out of 22 groups. The girls competed in the hip-hop category. This dance was the same one that the girls presented at the FRHS annual cheer and dance competition in October. The team did not place at the home competition but went back and took the judges memos to heart updating the routine for state. This routine focuses on a 90’s music theme, bringing back popular styles from the day. It features songs such as “Too Legit to Quit” by Mc Hammer and “Gangster’s Paradise” by Coolio. The team was surprised by a visit from the cheer team who came and watched the girls compete at their final competition of not only 2015, but of this school year’s season. The team is now preparing for halftime performances at the Men and Women’s varsity basketball games after Christmas break.
