Fossil Sabercats get taken down by Horizon

Fossil Ridge High School’s girls varsity basketball team suffered their first loss at home to Horizon High School on Friday, January 20.

The starting five of the game for the Sabercats included Ashley Steffeck, Mckenna Schultz, Reilly Dunn, Katey Guzman, and Brit Mishak.

Horizon took an early lead and was able to hold it for the entirety of the first half, finishing the half with a decent 18-32 lead over Fossil.

The Sabercats were unable to make it a close game because Horizon applied intense defensive pressure as well as executed a high percentage of their offensive plays. The night ended with a win for Horizon and a 45-57 loss for Fossil.

The next home game for the girls basketball team is Friday, January 27 at 6:30 pm against Greeley West High School.
