First crosstown rival under their belts

Crosstown rival games are always ones of anticipation and excitement. They have a different type of competitiveness to them as teams tend to really bring it in these games. Fossil Ridge High School’s boys soccer team had their first crosstown rival game of the season against Poudre High School on Thursday, September 14. The boys were able to keep a shutout and continue to be undefeated by beating the Impalas 3-0.

The first two goals were scored in the first half of the game. Tyler Hause scored the first goal of the game at the 25:36 minute to put the Sabercats up 1-0. With minutes left in the first half the Carlton brothers combine to put away one more away and extend the lead to 2-0 over the Impalas. Quincy Carlton found Cray Carlton off a cross to put the ball in the back of the net with 6:16 left in the half.

The final goal of the night was scored by David Wilhelm at the 13:03 minute to secure the 3-0 win over Poudre. This was Wilhelm’s fourth goal of the season, the second most scored on the Fossil team.

Fossil’s JV boys soccer team also shutout Poudre 3-0 with goals scored by Matthew Peyramure, with 2, and Mert Mihyaz.
