The first half was intense as each team pushed to get the first goal and set the tone for the rest of the game. Fossil did just that in the first 5 minutes of the game when Blair Durand scored off a rebound from his first shot using his head. Durand leads the team in goals with 8 and put the Sabercats in the lead 1-0 over the Lobos.

Nathan Bergerson scored the second goal for Fossil as well as his second goal of the season. Tyler Hause scored off a PK, to also give him his second goal of the season. In the last couple minutes of the game, Rocky was able to put one in to make the final score 3-2.
