Fossil Ridge High School volleyball hosted their annual Dig Pink night on Monday, October 9. This event is held annually to raise awareness, and money, for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. The event was filled with prize giveaways, food, and optional donations; as well as an excellent volleyball game with fans decked out in pink to show their support. Fossil played Fairview High School and came out victorious in all three sets.

As the first set began, Fossil took the court hungry for a win. Fairview put up a good effort, however the Sabercats’ strong offensive line and good communication lead them to the win. The Sabercats finished the set 25-16, setting a good tone for the rest of the night.

In the second set Fossil played even stronger and shut down Fairview for the entire set. Another win for Fossil as they ended the set 25-12.

Both teams put up a strong fight in the third set. Fairview, who came out stronger than they had in the previous set, tried to win. Once again the Sabercats proved to be the better team, winning the set and the game 25-15.

With another win as the State Championship approaches, Fossil continues to blaze through their season on a winning streak. Fossil will play away on Thursday, October 12 against Boulder High School. Make sure to wish the volleyball team good luck.
