Moving on to the semifinals, he lost to Kuykendall from Monarch 11-4 and dropped to the backside. The consolation round started well for Ginther because he beat Pierson from Cherokee Trail 9-7 in the semifinals. His final rounded ended in heartbreak, where he lost by medical forfeit due to a knee injury but he still finished 4th to qualify for State.

He fell to the consolation bracket after losing in the semifinals to McQuade from Monarch by pin in 2:47. In the consolation semifinals Yeager lost to Ambriz from Cherokee Trail 2-1 and dropped to the 5th place match. He grabbed the fifth place position after beating Sullivan from Legacy by pin in 2:38. In order to qualify for State, he had to wrestle Lucas from Horizon in the wrestleback match and he won by pin in 0:56 to finish fourth out of the region and qualify for State.

182- Nathan Meyer beat Brenner from Monarch in the first round by pin in 1:26. He continued on to beat Medrano from Chatfield in the quarterfinals by pin in 1:04. Meyer dropped down to the consolation bracket after losing in the semifinals to Strasheim from ThunderRidge 7-4. The state tournament will be held Thursday, February 15 through Saturday, February 17 at the Pepsi Center. After last year’s state tournament, 2017, Meyer is looking to make Fossil history once again and place higher than sixth place. Fossil also had one more State qualifier than last year and are hoping that will increase their chances in placing. Wish a Sabercat luck as they approach the last tournament of the wrestling season.
