Fossil celebrates girls swim second consecutive state championship
March 23, 2018
The Fossil Ridge High School girls swim and dive team celebrated their second consecutive win today during an all-school assembly. Athletic director Brandon Carlucci congratulated the girls and apologized to senior diver Brooke Schimmels. The diver had qualified for state but due to an error that was in no part her fault she was not allowed to compete at state. Carlucci apologized and choked up as he commented on how proud he was of the manner in which Schimmels conducted herself under the conditions.
The girls swim season is over until the 2018 season. Good job from the Etched in Stone staff and good luck next year ladies!

Congrats to the girl’s team! I wish there were more photos, or links to other articles. I have no idea what the scores were, who they were worried about beating, or why Brooke couldn’t compete. It is so cool Fossil does these recognition ceremonies.
