On Friday, February 8, 2018, the Fossil Ridge High School Knowledge Bowl team triumphed at regionals. One written test and four oral rounds led them to win 5A on Friday’s tournament with a score of 114. They competed against other high schoolers from around the Fort Collins and Loveland areas to answer tricky questions about geography, art, current events, and many other topics.

During the written round, sixty questions are answered by the students on paper. Depending on their score, they are placed into different teams for the oral round. The oral round consists of forty to fifty questions. Whoever can hit the buzzer and answer it correctly first earns the point.

Josh Lee, a senior on the team, stated, “Our team consists of around 15 very dedicated individuals who practice weekly to perform at a high standard at competition.” The team practices every day after school for two hours, and at regionals, their devotion paid off.

His favorite part of this competition, Lee said, “Personally, I just enjoy competitions. Being able to represent Fossil is something great that I love to do.” If you would like to show off your skills and represent Fossil Ridge, come join Knowledge Bowl. Their next meet will be state, so come out and support your Knowledge Bowl Team.
