Charlotte Schaefer, Staff Writer
Charlotte Schaefer is a junior this year at Fossil Ridge. She is a sixteen-year-old exchange student from Berlin, Germany. It is her first year in Fort Collins, and in Journalism. She is staying with a wonderful host family on a farm. She has two host siblings at Fossil, Annabeth Sarbacker and Matthew Paskey, who are both seniors. Her year has been great so far. It is very different for her to come from a big city with around four million people to a small town like Fort Collins. Charlotte was born and raised in Mitte, a suburb of Berlin. The biggest difference for her is that all the people are so nice to each other. She enjoys living near the mountains.
Although she doesn't know what she wants to do professionally when she is older, Charlotte does know that she wants to do something with editing and television production. Charlotte likes to hangout with her friends, travel around, vlog, take photos, and learn more about different cultures.
She enrolled in journalism to challenge her English skills. Charlotte really enjoys interviewing and writing about the experiences others have been through. She is also very positive and is open-minded about new things and experiences.
