Matyi Mayo
Matyi Mayo is currently a senior at Fossil Ridge High School. Matyi joined the class this year, is currently a staff writer, and is mainly covering the school’s sports teams. Alongside school, he swims year-round for Fort Collins Area swim team as well as for the Fossil Ridge Men's Team.
Matyi has not always lived in Fort Collins. He was born and raised in Hungary, attending public school there until 2014. His mother is Hungarian and his dad is American. Matyi is fluent in both Hungarian and English. The reason for his family’s move to Colorado was that his father's long time job in Afghanistan came to an end, as well as wanting to get to know his father's side of the family more.
Matyi, is overall an outgoing person. He does not have much free time due to 10 swim practices a week, but when he is not at the pool or school, he watches a lot of basketball and hangs out with friends and family.
Matyi’s plan post-high school is to attend college at the University of Utah, while competing for their swim team. He plans to study either business or finance.
