Coming into this past home game for the PSD Fire against Mountain Vista on Wednesday, October 7th, the Fire felt confident as they had gained some momentum on the season. Losing by large margins each of the past games against Mountain Vista this season, the Fire were expecting a fight.

The Fire came out strong right off of the first face-off, and put Mountain Vista to the test early on. The Fire had tired Mountain Vista quickly, and soon scored their first goal in the past 3 seasons. The goal put a “fire” under the Fire players, and they continued to put on pressure. Mountain Vista caught up and scored 3 goals, and held the lead throughout the rest of the game. Mallory Kellum, ecstatic after the game, proudly stated that “we killed it and kept the game at a super fast pace. We all had perfect positioning and our teamwork was great!” Though the Fire came up short, their impressive play gave them a huge glimmer of hope for improvement for the future. The PSD Fire lost a close one, 1-3.
