PSD Fire put out after another loss

Coming into this away game against Kent Denver this past Monday, October 12, the PSD Fire Field Hockey team had come off of a very exhilarating and uplifting game against Mountain Vista. Their close loss sparked a flame in the Fires’ hearts and gave them a boost of confidence coming into this game.

Kent Denver, known for being an opponent easier to play against came out below the Fire as PSD had used their boosted confidence from last game to their advantage and held a fast speed to the game, though they “were all exhausted from playing multiple games with short breaks in between throughout the past week.” (Mallory Kellum)

Kent Denver caught up with the Fire and wore them out, scoring a total of six times in the two halves played. Kellum was proud of their play in this game, as the Fire had “gotten shots on goal and got a few short corners.” The Fires’ confidence was broken down to just a small ember after another loss.

Make more positive, than ” their close loss sparked a flame in the Fires’ hearts and gave them a boost of confidence coming into this game.” More confidence from the press would probably boost their confidence.

    Hello, Jason!
Good article…I’m actually a player on Fire and in Journalism 1. You did a nice job reflecting how the players’ attitudes improved following the Mountain Vista game. Overall good article, but maybe get a comment from another player next time to use as an additional resource.
