On Saturday, October 17 girls softball played in their regional games against Douglas County and Ralston Valley. They beat Douglas 9 to 5 and won against Ralston 12 to 11; the Fossil softball team are now regional champs and if you missed the exciting event, 9news featured highlights of the game. As if the victory alone wasn’t sweet enough, it was that much sweeter when they earned it. Against Douglas they had to fight for their victory and play ten innings. Then against Ralston they played 9 innings. It was nail biting to the very end, but thanks to all of their talent, time, and hard work they emerged regional champs and are looking forward with nervous anticipation to state next weekend (October 23 and 24).

These girls can taste the end of the season coming and it will all be decided on Friday and Saturday, October 23 and 24. They play at 12:15 in the afternoon against Legend at Aurora Sports park.  These girls are on their way to state, and win or lose they deserve to be supported so make sure to get out there and support the girls softball team.
