Future Business Leaders of America at Fossil Ridge are qualified for state. FBLA sabercats took 48 medals to state at the districts competition on Feb 3. at the UNC Civic Center in Greeley, Colorado. Fossil bested 22 high schools and received first place in the district.

The conference offered many students business and future related information. The District Conference hosted respected keynote speakers and different workshops where students could meet FBLA members from different schools and network.They were able to learn more about business and improve job skills. Districts was a time of encouraged growth in business leadership and an establishment of career goals in professional environments.

Even with a high number of individuals competing at each FBLA event, Fossil’s devoted and competent members earned their first place title. Jake Atterberry, FBLA’s President and one of Colorado’s district officers stated, “At the awards ceremony, Fossil members kept getting called to the stage for some pretty impressive events.” Atterberry described that state qualifiers were not the only awards, but that many won the top positions within their events. “It’s amazing to see all of our work paying off,” he said.

FBLA sabercats have created a strong reputation of high expectations among other school districts. “Fossil Ridge presented very healthy competition among other chapters in their district and presented great leadership skills throughout the conference,” said Nishtha Kochhar, State Social Media Representative from Cherokee Trail High School, “It was a pleasure meeting such wonderful an talented members.”

The 2016 State Leadership Conference will be held in Vail, Colorado on April 15th. FBLA members will be polishing and improving their presentation skills for each event. Vice President and another of Colorado’s district officers, Neil Rowan exclaimed “I’m so excited about dominating at the state conference with all these awesome people.”

With much preparation for Districts, Sabercats will have their final push for the State competition. “Our members prepared a lot and put their best foot forward in this competition showing what Fossil is really capable of,” claimed Atterberry.

Fossil Ridge is sure to bring even more enthusiasm and competition to the state finals.
