The girls C team pulled out a win last night against cross town rival Rocky Mountain.
The girls were up by 10 at the end of the first half, but Rocky closed the gap quickly in the second half with their half court press. This play gave trouble to not only C team but Jv as well. The press Rocky employs has been known to catch many teams at the varsity level placing their varsity at 10th in state.
The team ended with a winning score of 32-29. The SaberCats played a tough game, winning because of their impressive free throw shooting. The refs called a lot of fouls that resulted in both Rocky and Fossil players ending the game with four fouls.
The girls C and Varsity teams won because of the impressive free throw shooting shown during the last two quarters of both games that helped secure the teams victories.
The girls play again at home on Friday against longtime rival Ft. Collins High School. The varsity team will also have their senior night.
