Caring, athletic, and adventurous are few of the many things you could say about senior Elizabeth Mecseji. With a huge smile on her face and a contagious laugh, she is someone that people love to be around. Born and raised in Fort Collins Elizabeth is a Colorado native, living with her two lovely parents and her two older brothers. Elizabeth has always had great role models. She has consistently been involved in clubs and organizations in and out of school which have truly helped her become the young lady she is today.

Ever since middle school, Elizabeth has always been looking for ways to be involved in the school and the community. She has  been an Ambassador at Fossil for two years and has shown her dedication to being apart of this class by putting in countless hours before, during, and after school. Part of the program that Elizabeth has shared her love for is The Baconators Program, “with this program we get to head over to Bacon Elementary during our class period and spend time with the kids in the different grades in the classroom and on the playground.” The Student Ambassadors have put a lot of time and effort into playing and teaching these kids. You can always count on Elizabeth to be the first one to offer her support or love to anyone, even if she isn’t familiar with the person; she shows her kindheartedness everyday in the hallway by helping out in any shape or form she can.

Known as a Fossil Ridge softball player for the past four years Elizabeth has always been very athletic and involved in sports. She has been playing ever since she could remember and has grown up loving the sport more and more every day. She has excelled so much that she made  it possible to play in college. But it wasn’t until the summer 2014 that it all went wrong. The summer going into her Junior year Elizabeth broke her back, rendering her unable to participate in softball during her junior year. However, she was still able to find a way to be involved by being the team’s manager. As many high school athletes know your junior year is crucial in college recruiting, Elizabeth had been in contact with several coaches and was given opportunities to play at the next level. It wasn’t until she was just a manager that it hit her that she was losing her dream of playing college softball. Although the next level is still out of the picture for Mecseji she was able to make a huge comeback and play in her last high school season. The team finished up in third place in the state tourney, “it was a great way to end my softball career, I stepped off the field for the last time with some of my best friends and I couldn’t of asked for anything more”.

Mecseji is near the end of her high school career and has big dreams to pursue in her future. After applying and being accepted to numerous colleges Elizabeth has narrowed it down to University of Northern Colorado and Colorado Mesa, both being amazing schools she has a tough decision ahead of her. Wherever she ends up spending the next four years she hopes to end up in the Nursing school.
