Fossil Ridge High school’s JV Lacrosse boys pulled out a big win against Boulder High School. Fossil hosted the game at French Field at 5:30 on Wednesday, 20th of April. Fossil had an outstanding performance throughout the entire game.
The offense played well and the defense matched the intensity. Boulder only scored two goals against Fort Collins Unified.End score: 13-2.
“The game was an easy victory that allowed us to try new things for pressured games. The game was great and all of us played very well”, said Brandon Rouault, defensive player.
The team communicated very well on the field. They also dominated ball possession and faceoffs. “What we need to work on is ball movement, stick skills, and running organized plays”, explained junior, Rouault.
Fort Collins Unified fought until the end even with their lead. The game didn’t slow down at all. “The lead was satisfying, but it meant little playing time for the defense because the ball was primarily on the other side of the field”, said Rouault.
The game was friendly on both sides, without a lot of fouls.
JV’s’ season started off with a good note with an overtime win against Loveland. The team struggled more as they began to face some of the higher ranked teams in the state such as Columbine and Regis. Rouault explained that the game against Boulder will be an encouraging boost for the rest of the season.
