After a three-game winning streak, with solid performances by the Fossil Football team, it was shocking after the whistle blew Friday night, September 23, signaling the end to their first loss, 17-31, to Bear Creek (1-3).
Running back Brandon Spraberry and Quarterback Griffin Roberts both scored rushing touchdowns with Evan Bergerson putting away the two extra points. Bergerson had a total of 3 points for the night after putting away another field goal. At an interview with Spraberry, he commented, “The game didn’t go as well as we had hoped. We put ourselves in good positions, we just couldn’t finish. We didn’t have the best practices last week and I really think that showed in our game on Friday. We don’t need to change much, we just need to keep doing what we’re doing and I believe the rest will fall into place.”
The team will take on Lakewood at home this Thursday, September 29, at 7 pm on French Field. With confidence, Spraberry also included, “Playing in front of our fans and supporters this week on military night will give us all an extra push to perform well. We need to learn from our last game, and come back this week harder than before. I believe in this team, I believe we can get it done.”
