Fossil athletes honored at the Coloradoan Sports Award Show

An audience of over 1,000 athletes, coaches, friends and family gathered at the Budweiser Event Center on Monday, May 15 to listen to Von Miller, the Denver Broncos linebacker, speak as well as honor the star high school athletes of Northern Colorado.

Though the highlight of the night was the interview between Von Miller and the Coloradoan sport reporter, Kevin Lytle, many awards were given out including eight to athletes of Fossil Ridge High School.

Boys Tennis Player of the Year: Akhil Gupta

Hockey Player of the Year: Blake Baer

Girls Swimmer of the Year: Zoe Bartel

Boys Basketball Player of the Year: Braxton Bertolette

Girls Soccer Player of the Year: Mckenna Schultz

Boys Swimmer of the Year: Danny Kovac

Girls Lacrosse Player of the Year: Madeleine Mason

Of the thirty awards given out Monday night, eight of them were to Fossil athletes. The amount of talent at Fossil is outstanding and the eight athletes truly represented that talent. Congratulations to those athletes.
