Olivia Doro

Junior Olivia Doro is excited to participate in her second year of journalism. This year, she is the Editor-in-Chief in-training. This means that she is training with fellow staff member, and current Editor-in-Chief, Serena Bettis, so that she can take over the role next year. This is a very prominent role in the journalism department, so she is stoked to learn and grow through that experience this year.

Doro’s main focus in journalism is sports writing. This is due to her enjoyment of watching many different sports and talking to the players to create interesting and innovative stories. She does not currently participate in Fossil sports, yet she has background in playing soccer and applies her knowledge in sports writing. Freshman year, she was added into journalism due to a scheduling mistake, and immediately fell in love. She is at the school all the time covering events and finding interesting stories. Now, she would like to go into journalism as a career. She also participates in NAHS, Art Club, Key Club, and is the President of Photo Club.

Her aesthetic can be described as 90s grunge, complete with square black glasses. Don’t ask her if they’re real, they are. She has many old school phrases such as, “rad as dad”, “sick as frick”, “hectic”, and “groovy”. Outside of school, she reads in her nook and travels. She enjoys playing chill music on her record player while reading various genres of books. When she travels, she loves taking photos of everything around her, and that is what got her into photography. The one thing that she’d bring from last year to this year is her focus on her studies. She was very proud of her level of focus last year and the grades that came from that, and she is determined to continue that this year.
