Game Night exceeds expectations

Computer Science Honor Society hosts game night to raise funds for their chosen charity: Against Malaria Foundation.

For 2 Weeks 2 Give Computer Science Honor Society hosted Game Night on Wednesday March 20. The charity they are donating proceeds to is the Against Malaria Foundation. According to Allen McFarland, President of CSHS, they chose this charity because of its cost efficiency.

In order to raise money, participants paid five dollars to use a computer in room 209 to play video games until 6:30 pm. In the first 20 minutes about 27 people were sitting down at a PC and ready for the games to begin. This equates to approximately $135 within the first half hour of the event. The CSHS board will also be donating a portion of their budget.

“We want to promote computer science and a lot of people get into computer science through video games,” McFarland says.
