Fossil Ridge girls basketball made a statement in their play-in game on Wednesday, 2/26.
The Sabercats went up against the Denver North Vikings and dominated with a 68-22 win at home.
With an amazing halftime score of 38-7, the Sabercats started to have fun and take over. All 14 players got in the game because of the commanding lead.
Players like Addilyn Sandstedt, Elli Johnson, and Gianna Leone were the team’s leading scorers, combining for 42 of their team’s total.
Sandstedt scored 18 points, shooting 5/11, 40% from three, and was perfect from the free throw line, being 4/4.
Leone and Johnson also led the team in rebounds with 8 each.
Maddie Kubat shared the ball well, with 4 assists, which led the team in that category.
Johnson played stellar defense as well and tallied up 5 steals.
Johnson had an amazing game and truly led the team to the win.
The Sabercats’ impressive performance on Wednesday night earned them a spot in the next round of the playoffs. They will face off against Legend on Saturday, 3/1, at 5:30 p.m. at Legend.
