“Carrie” The Musical: A sneak peek into the thrilling production

Fossil Ridge Theatre’s dress rehearsal for “Carrie” The Musical, directed by Mikayla Assmus, gives insight into the amount of dedication and preparation that has gone into producing the musical.

“Carrie,” by Lawrence D. Cohen follows Carrie White (Hannah Schnorr), a teenage outcast with telekinetic powers that is bullied by her peers and oppressed by her controlling mother Margaret White (Laya Greenacre). Assmus decided to put a modern twist on the show, adding the aspect of social media to connect to the high school experience today.

The intricate sets and props, brought to life by Technical Director John Garner, as well as excellent performance delivery, enhanced by Music Director Bri McCormick, show that the cast is more than prepared to communicate the dangers of bullying and the bystander effect with their audience over the next couple of days.

The show will be performed this Thursday, Friday and Saturday, April 10-12. Tickets can be purchased at frhs.booktix.com.
