Fossil girls soccer has been on fire to start the season, only losing one out of their first 12 games.
With a record of 10-1-4, the Sabercats have earned the ranking of sixth in the state so far.
Outsourcing opponents 17-2 in their last three games makes this team red hot.
Leaders of the team include Lily Wale and Reece Morgan. Wale leads in goals while Morgan leads in assists and total points.
In interviews with center back Ava Wagner and all around player Harper Teruel, their opinions on the season were shared.
“I think the upperclassmen have really helped me push myself and try to get better throughout the last two years now,” Wagner said.
Wagner is a driven soccer player since a kid.
“Yeah I also think they’ve helped out but also my coaches have been really influential during my seasons,” Teruel said.
Teruel sets high exxpectations for herself which drives to to do better.
“I think that Reese (Morgan) has really been great for us because she’s been really good on offense this year,” Teruel said.
“Yeah, Shay (Masters) has been really great in goal this year,” Wagner said.
Both girls say that this year has been a great stepping stone for their highschool careers and look forward to progressing for their final year in 2026.
Senior night just wrapped up on 4/29 against rival Fort Collins highschool, where the Sabercats triumphed with a 2-0 win at home.
Before the game on 4/29, a senior night ceremony happened to honor the accomplished seniors on the team.
These six players consist of, Reyna Maroni, Bailey Pottratz, Teagan Myers, Bella Robinson, Ciera Beck, and Amelia Larson.
Fans made sure to pack the stands on the rivalry game and cheer for the Sabercats to wish the best for the remaining players.

Fossil Ridge looks to end the season on a positive note, going into playoffs to try to secure another legendary season for the program in the next coming weeks.
