Fossil Ridge High School volleyball will play in the third round of the CHASSA 5a Varsity Girls Volleyball State Tournament today. They go against #5 Rampart. If they win they advance to the semifinals and play #3 Rock Canyon or #2 Valor Christian at noon on Saturday at the Denver Coliseum.
Senior Trinity Burchett said the team hopes to continue their same attitude in today’s game.
“We are looking to carry the same level of confidence we had in our last game into this one,” she said. “We haven’t played Rampart this season so we are really excited to hopefully continue our winning streak.”
Fossil came off an undefeated season so far and beat Pine Creek in the first 3 sets Thursday.
“We are looking forward to carrying our momentum from yesterday and keeping the energy high on our side of the net,” junior Shanin Pottle said.
As the Sabercats advance to the next round, they will play only top 10 teams from here on out. The hope for them is to win the state championship after coming so close last year and losing in the semifinals. Check back here for more information regarding the tournament and post season stats.
