Lindsey Vonn, 41 years old, was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Vonn moved to Vail, Colorado, when she was 12 years old.
Vonn started showing her interest in skiing while she lived in Saint Paul at the age of three, and continued that interest when she moved to Vail.
Vonn made her debut in the Winter Olympics at the age of 17. The 2002 Salt Lake Winter Olympics, is where she became one of the best female alpine skiers in history. She has won three Olympic medals, one gold and two bronze. She has also won eight World Championship medals, two gold, three silver, and three bronze.

Nine days before the Winter Olympics in Milan, Italy, Vonn suffered an ACL tear in her left knee, but Vonn still decided to compete in the Winter Olympics this year, even with her torn ACL.
Vonn suffered a crash in the first 11 seconds of her first downhill skiing run. Her skiing pole caught onto one of the flags on the run, losing control, and therefore crashing.
Her torn ACL played a big role in Vonn breaking her leg. Bystanders could hear her wails, screams, and cries from the sideline. She was unable to walk off the course, so she was then airlifted off the course and then went under way for leg surgery.
Vonn now cannot compete further into these 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan. She will now undergo a long road of recovery. She is not planning on competing in the next Winter Olympics in 2030.
