Judy Keating is a part of a small group of administrators who have been at Fossil for over 20 years. After 21 years at Fossil, she is retiring.
Keating has been working as the Media Tech Assistant in our Media Center for the last six years. Previously, she worked as a sort of “classroom support” and “Helping kids that need help doing their homework, and studying, and that type of thing,” Keating said.
“I’m really going to miss [student’s] energy, and how they broaden my mind because everyone I chat with has a different opinion and I feel like when you just hang around people your own age, your window narrows,” and “I just really enjoy talking and getting to know all the people that come in here,” Keating said.
When asked what Keating’s favorite memory was, she said, “Oh boy, I can’t pick one exact one, but I just love how Fossil has grown in every single way,” and “I remember when we won our very first sports game, that was good too.”
Keating said that she is looking forward to traveling during her retirement.
“I can’t wait to travel and play golf with my husband. We both love to travel and golf, so we’re going to see some historic courses in Europe,” she said. “It’s a great way to spend three to four hours when you have nothing else to do.”
It took Keating a while to find her Media Center position, but she thinks it was the best thing for her.
“I work with so many cool people, and I love books, so I think it’s perfect for me.”
Keating explained plans for her free time in the future.
“My husband and I have a new grandbaby, too. So I can’t wait to be there for them,” Keating said.
Mrs. Keating is leaving her 21 year legacy here at Fossil. Even though she’s retiring, she is excited for the next chapter in her life.
