Fossil Wrestling: the best turnout in Fossil history

The Fossil Ridge High School wrestling team went to state Feb. 21 in a meet that lasted for three days. The nine wrestlers who attended the meet at the Pepsi Center in Denver, five of whom were seniors and five of whom were going to state for the first time, succeeded in ranking first in the city, fifth in the state, and walked away with four placements.

Senior Austin Lindsay (160) and junior Payton Tapia (195) wrestled in the state finals and both lost extremely close and heartbreaking matches. Senior Taylor Killion (138) earned third place and senior Dalton Riba (170) earned sixth place.
