What to do in Fort Collins in the Winter

What to do in Fort   Collins in the winter?

I ask myself this every year because although there is plenty to do when you sit and think about it, winter activities seem fewer and far between. Sure, you can go ice skating or go to Epic and swim, but if you really want to appreciate the beauty of Fort Collins in the winter here are some things you can do.

Go snowshoeing!  I know this might not sound like a fun way to go on a walk, but snowshoeing is actually an energizing way to enjoy nature without going on a hike. The great thing about snowshoeing is you can walk on deep snow without your feet falling through; this means you can go in the forest where the snow is left untouched by footprints and where you are can be in complete wilderness. And with the recent snowfall, there’s no better time to go.

Another adventurous and thing to do is to go on a snowmobile ride. I can say this is an amazing way to appreciate the beauty of Fort Collins because of all the hidden passages through the forests and hills. Everyone has to take a ride on a snowmobile at least ounce because of all the beauty you see and the amazing feeling to be in nature.

For all the rock climbers or risk-takers, ice climbing has got to be one of the most exhilarating things to do in the winter. Fort Collins is blessed with beautiful mountains and what better way to enjoy them than to climb them!

OF COURSE I did not forget about skiing and snowboarding! These are probably the most popular activity to do in the winter and skiing down a Colorado never gets old!

For all you non adventurous people out there, don’t worry there is plenty to do in Fort Collins in the winter that doesn’t involve hiking or heavy exercise.

Go on a carriage ride! One of the most relaxing and fun things to do in the winter is to wrap a blanket around yourselves, grab some friends, and go on a carriage ride.

With Christmas approaching, add a ride to early Christmas shopping! Grab a friend or relative and go window shopping and afterwards go in a café and enjoy a nice hot chocolate or tea.

Other fun activities to do in the winter include:Ice fishing, going to the movies, sledding, snow tubing, and hot tubbing.
