The Pi Day 5k

The Pi Day 5k

On a chilly morning this last Saturday the 29th The Pi Day 5K was held at Fossil Ridge High school. The Pi Day 5k was a 5 kilometer race that raised money for the Bromley Scholarship fund which gives a highschooler in PSD the opportunity to receive a math scholarship. The race moves from school to school every year and this year it landed at Fossil. The tradition and fundraising started five years ago and has been ongoing since in the memory of Mr. Bromley.

Mr. Bromley died in 2009 and was a math teacher in PSD. His wife Mrs. Bromley started the tradition of his scholarship and its fundraising in his memory. There will also be a golf tournament at the end of July to help fundraise for two different scholarships, the Bromley and Preble scholarship, both of these being teachers in the school district who died within a few months of each other. The Preble scholarship is for science students. These events have helped reward dedicated students and have sent them to college for their respective field . These events will be ongoing traditions in the PSD community.
