Fossil’s first playoff soccer game

The Fossil Ridge High School soccer team had a great season run finishing the year 7-6-3 (5-4-2 league.) But Fossil ran into a roadblock in their first playoff game against Cherry Creek High School.

Fossil opened up their first playoff game of 2014 against 6th seeded Cherry Creek. The Sabercats fought hard throughout the first half. But towards the end of the the opening period Cherry Creek put a goal in to take a 1-0 lead. From there Fossil had an uphill battle. Fossil fought hard but Cherry Creek was able to fend off the Sabercats to win 2-0.

Senior Minnas Ephraim, when asked what he and his team could’ve done better, answered, “It would’ve been to relax more. There’s always a lot more pressure since it’s a playoff game.”

The Cats definitely didn’t finish the way they wanted to, but, led by Seniors Jacob Halstrom, Logan Marley, Matthew Clark and Sophomore Sam Goulding, Fossil had one solid year.

Even though the article was short, I found it to be very informative and effective. The pictures were also very helpful to the article.

I really enjoy the pictures in this shot! Great action shots, but you should not start your sentences off with the word ‘but’. Otherwise than that, great article!
