NFL playoff predictions

NFL playoff predictions

After a long hard-fought regular season it’s time all NFL fans have been waiting for: PLAYOFFS! It’s time to see if your team is going to show up or lay an egg. Needless to say, NFL fans should be very excited for this weekend’s Divisional round matchups.

New England Patriots at Baltimore Ravens

In Saturday’s matchup between the Patriots of New England and the Baltimore Ravens, there’s a couple things to look for in both teams. The Ravens have an uphill battle playing the 1st seed Patriots. Led by future hall of famer Tom Brady and explosive weapon Rob Gronkowski, the Patriots are a force to be reckoned with. On the other side of the ball, shutdown corner Darrelle Revis is a handful for any receiver to go up against. Nevertheless, Baltimore has proven they’re not a team you want to run into during these 2014-2015 NFL playoffs. You can never count a team out with 2013 Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco running the helm.  No matter what, NFL fans should have good matchup to watch Saturday.

Prediction: New England Patriots win 27-17

Carolina Panthers at Seattle Seahawks

Another exciting divisional game is coming your way this Saturday, with the NFC battle between the Carolina Panthers and the Seattle Seahawks. If there was a team that was able to derail the defending Super Bowl champions, it would be the Carolina Panthers. With a freak of an athlete at the quarterback position in Cam Newton and jump ball threat Kelvin Benjamin as receiver, they give the Seahawks, and star-studded cornerback Richard Sherman, a handful to deal with. The Seahawks once again have a top ranked defense and let’s not forget, also have the twelfth man in Seattle that gives them the home field advantage, as well as unstoppable running back Marshawn Lynch.

Prediction: Seattle Seahawks win 17-7

Dallas Cowboys at Green Bay Packers

Looking into Sunday’s early matchup between the Boys’ and the Packers, this might be the most exciting game of the weekend. Both sides of the ball can hold their own against one another. With Cowboys running back Demarco Murray averaging 4.7 yards a carry along with quarterback Tony Romo who has been playing better late season football than ever. The Cowboys aren’t a team you want to see in the playoffs. Don’t overlook the MVP season Aaron Rodgers has had. He has 38 passing touchdowns on the year and only five interceptions. One of the only years he had more touchdown passes at this point was 2011 where he had 45, the year after Super Bowl MVP.  The Dallas Cowboys are undefeated on the road this year and the Packers are unbeaten at home. It should be a very interesting game.

Prediction: Dallas Cowboys win 31-28

Indianapolis Colts at Denver Broncos

The weekend’s last game battles the young determined horse versus the aged experience horse. This doesn’t only portray the mascots but the player personnel on each team as well. Third year quarter back Andrew Luck has a lot to prove to the NFL. After winning a playoff thriller last year against the Kansas City Chiefs, Luck and the Colts are hungry to knock off the dominant force in Denver. Peyton Manning, entering his final years as an NFL quarterback,  is looking to go out with a bang. With off season acquisitions of defensive players Demarcus Ware, Aquib Talib and TJ Ward, Denver has proved they’re a more complete team as compared to last year. The Colts were third in the league for total offense during the regular season in contrast to the Broncos who were third in total defense during the NFL regular season. Should be a barn burner and thrilling if you’re a football fan.

Prediction: Denver Broncos win 27-21

I liked the information and detail in the article. I also like that the writer used multiple teams instead of focusing on just one or two.
