Fossil Ridge High School announces HONK! a musical tale of “The Ugly Duckling” with music by George Styles and book and lyrics by Anthony Drewe.

HONK! follows the tale of ‘Ugly’, a duckling whose strange appearance prompts teasing from many of the farmyard animals. He is soon led astray by a conniving cat and begins a journey back to the farm to find his heartsick mother. Along the way, Ugly is able to discover love and acceptance. “HONK!  is a show that allows all ages to find their inner child.  We’ve all felt what it’s like the be the ‘other,’” states HONK! director Kristin Rust. “It is truly magical when we discover ourselves and reveal our inner beauty.”   Fossil Ridge Theatre’s performance of HONK! allows for every audience member to experience life at the size of the duck. With larger-than-life cattails and glowing fish, visionary technical director John Garner immerses us into the world of a farm animal with his vivid set. HONK!’s theme of acceptance and hilarious characters creates a story and message great for any age!

Experience the hidden world of a duck’s journey to find himself. HONK! will be performed February 20, 21, 26, and 27 at 7:00 PM and February 21st and 28th at 2:00 PM in the Fossil Ridge High School performing arts center. Tickets will be available online at www.showtix4u.com. For questions contact Kristin Rust at [email protected] or John Garner at [email protected].
