Girls varsity soccer loses playoff game with valiant fight

After losing to Monarch High School on Friday May 1 in a nail biting over time game, the lady sabercat varsity soccer team took on Cherry Creek last night. It was a rainy battle for a spot in the bracket for the 2015 CHSAA Girls Soccer State Championships.

The game was played on Fossil’s turf, ending with the girl’s losing against the Cherry Creek Bruins with a score of 4-1. FRHS Senior, Kaylee Brown, stated, “our team has a lot of talent so it sucks that we didn’t do very well this season.”

The varsity season is now over and the girls have left an overall record of 8-8 on the field. The end of the season also sets the girls at 42nd in the 5A state rankings, 8 places ahead of local rivals Fort Collins High School. Brown continued her thoughts on the season saying, “the program has a lot of potential for the next couple of years.”
