Fossil’s Fresh Club will be holding their annual E-waste drive from Monday January 18th to Friday January 29th, the last two weeks of the month of January. There will be collection boxes to recycle unusable batteries or broken electronics such as cell phones or DVD players, in every advisory classroom and wing office.
There will be prizes given out to advisory classes who have the heaviest boxes containing e-waste. A special donut party will be awarded by the club on Friday, January 18th.
Fresh club representing Fossil Ridge environmental sustainability high, has included the E-waste drive as part of a yearly tradition in the school. Jacob Trenholm, a member within the leadership panel, stated that the club would send all recycled parts to a recycling plant so that they may be put into other electronics. “Recycling batteries prevents harmful toxins emanating from lithium ion batters from being released into the environment,” said Trenholm. Not only will the E-Waste Drive improve the environment, it will help fund Fresh Club for more future environmental sustainability projects as well.
