The Fossil Ridge Tennis team has played a handful of games already. However, with the school year still being new. It would be a superb idea to get to know the coach and his vision of his team for the challenging road ahead.

Steve Schultz, the coach for the varsity team, believes that Fossil will end up having a good shot at getting second place in conference for varsity. Also, Schultz foresees the varsity team obtaining around fifth to eighth place in state this year.

When asking about the unique qualities of the team. He responded, “Our team has always been historically talented in doubles. However,  from what I’ve seen so far, our singles are improving as time and practice continues this season.” But with the first few games already out of the way, coach Schultz understands that there is always something that can be improved, “Some of our team lacks experience. It is very difficult to become a varsity level player. But those who are there, earned it.”

Before games, coach Schultz and the varsity team try to ebb and flow their pre garme, “Time off is time off” according to Schultz. Their last game was on Tuesday against Fairview. The team scored well, and were competitive the whole way through.

According to Schultz. It was apparent to him that this year’s JV team will possibly go undefeated this season. “All of these players work hard.” Said Schultz. The team has a long road ahead of them, but are ready to take on this 2016 season.
