Saturday, January 28th, Fossil Ridges cheer team competed at the Rock Canyon Nationals Prep Competition. This competition was an exhibition which means the teams weren’t competing for a place, they were showing their routines to practice for nationals coming up. Fifteen teams performed for the judges, all in the same division. “ Our biggest competition was ourselves. We need to prove to us that we could do anything we put our mind to so we could go into nationals with a positive mind set.” Izzy Yeagar
Fossil typically follows the same routine every time they compete. However, fossil switched up their moves and took some cheers they do during game days to their performance. Hopefully they can take these ideas and bring them to nationals with them. The judges didn’t announce a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, place, they gave each team feedback on what they did well and what they need to improve on.
The sabercats will compete Saturday, February 4th at the Mountain Vista Nationals exhibition. They will be preparing for nationals until they leave for Florida on February 9th. Wish them good luck on their upcoming events.

I like this article because normally we don’t cover the cheerleading team that much in Etched In Stone but this article covers a lot of information and detail.

Article was good but I thought they could go more in depth with what feedback the cheer team received from the judges and what else they are doing to prepare for nationals
