On Saturday, Aprill 22, the Fossil Ridge baseball team took on cross-town rival Rocky Mountain (league record of 7-1), and took another loss (3-11) to the Lobos. Now Fossil’s overall record sits at (3-11), and the last four games of the season won’t be easy to win.

Rocky has always been a very talented team, even with the loss of a handful of skilled seniors last year, the team seemed to find their mojo for this 2017 season. After an interview with Lobo Tyler Hyland, he commented, “I thought we played pretty well on Saturday – we have a lot of good players, some really good at batting and some really good out in the field. We knew we had to play well in all aspects of the game and have good energy going in, because we knew they were going to come out excited and ready to give us their best. We are really happy with how we are playing right now since we started off a bit slow. I hope we can keep this momentum going through the end of the season, this win against Fossil validated the progress we’ve made as a team so far.”

Unfortunately the ‘Cats just didn’t have their best game on Saturday, but that didn’t degrade their reputation in the eyes of the Lobos. Hyland also stated, “Fossil is a very talented young team, and I think that they will keep getting better as the season goes on and in the next few years.”

The boys’ next game is on April 25, at Horizon High School at 4:00 P.M.
