Fossil Ridges Boys swimming and diving team beat Cherry Creek

Friday, April 6th, Fossil Ridges Boys swimming and diving team competed against Cherry Creek High School. This was a big meet for the Sabercats because last year Cherry Creek was ranked third in the state last year. Fossil won the meet and beat Cherry Creek by fifteen points. Below are some of the results from the meet.
The first event was the 200 medley relay, the Sabercats placed first, fourth, and seventh. Danny Kovac, Cole Mason, Matt Geraghty, and Xander Johnson, placed first and had a time of 1:37.50. Josh Lee, Matyi Mayo, Bryce Henry, Sasha Chappell, had a tim of 1:43.37 and received fourth place.In seventh place was Cole Glover, Josh Thornton, Paul McBride, and Josh Goodrich, they had a time of 1:46.41. In this event Fossil earned a total of ten points.
The fourth event was the 200 free, in this race Fossil placed, second, third, fourth, and eighth. In second place was Richard Dauksher, he had a time of 1:44.52, and Lars Worlund had a time of 1:45.23 and he place third. In fourth place was Alex Henderson, he had a time of 1:52.14, and Ryan Wallick has a time of 1:54.91 and received eighth place. Dauksher earned six points, Worlund earned five points, and Henderson earned 4 points. In this event Fossil earned a total of fifteen points.
The sixth event was the 200 IM, in this race the Sabercats placed first, fourth, fifth, and seventh. Danny Kovac placed first and had a time of 1:50.67, Cole Mason had a time of 2:04.53 and received fourth place. In fifth place was Christian Conrady, he had a time of 2:05.21, and Matyi Mayo had a time of 2:06.84 and received seventh place. To add to the leader board, Kovac earned eight points, Mason earned four points, Conrady earned three points, and Mayo earned one point. From this event fossil earned a total of sixteen points.
Congratulations to Fossils swimming and diving team, beating the third ranked team in the state from last year is a huge accomplishment. The next meet is April 10 against Fairview High School at EPIC.
