Volleyball Crushes Cross-Town Rival
Fossil Ridge High School’s Varsity Volleyball team played crosstown rivals Poudre High School on Thursday, October 3, reigning victorious over the Impalas.
The theme for the game was “pink out” to respect Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This intense, high energy game kept the pinked out student and family sections cheering and hopeful that Fossil would stay ahead and the girls would bring home the win.
The first quarter ensured everyone was on the edge of their seats, as the Sabercats were able to stay ahead throughout the game. However, the Impalas were definitely putting up a fair fight. Until the third and last set, Sabercats put their foot down. The team closed out the first set with the Impalas only falling a few points behind at 22. Varsity player Ava Hovland gave a few words about the second set, “I would say the second set started off strong but towards the middle we started getting in our heads. At the end we got our momentum back up and pulled out the win.” Fossil dominated in all three sets of the game, ending the night proudly at 25 to 12, leaving the Impalas in the dust.
The next game for the Sabercats will be a home game against Greeley West. The upcoming game will be on October 10, at 6:30 p.m. Make sure to come out and support Sabercat volleyball this Thursday the tenth!
