The girl Sabercats went first and were ready to take on Rocky. Right off the bat, star players Natalie Lin and Carmen Arkin gained the team a total of twenty-one points throughout the game and were key to the Sabercats’ success.
Fossil went into halftime with the lead, yet Rocky was not ready to give up. In the third quarter, Rocky tied the game and took the lead back. The game was tied in the fourth quarter until Lin intercepted the ball, tore down the court, and made a basket, gaining the team a two-point lead. Lin continued to gain points for her team when Rocky fouled and Lin gained two more points, ending the game.
Their next game is against Poudre who has a 12-9 record, Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in a home game.

Boy’s Basketball
Despite Rocky’s 10-10 record and Fossil’s 14-6, Fossil was already beat right from the start. Sean Purvis scored the first basket of the game, but the Sabercats just could not compete with the Lobos. In the first quarter, Fossil maintained a good score and Rocky only had a lead of one point.
Then in the second quarter, the trend remained the same and Rocky scored one more point than Fossil, now having a two-point lead. Rocky again took the lead in the third quarter, but Fossil was close enough to come back. The Sabercats pushed the hardest they had all game and tied the game, yet with less than two minutes left Rocky scored one last basket and took the game 47-45.
The Sabercats play next against Northglenn in a hopefully redeeming match Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in a home game.
